AN OPEN LETTER TO ALEXANDER THE GREAT

Dear Mr.Alexander,

I am a school girl studying in India.  I have been wanting  to write to U for a  long time

but it is only now that I have a found a messenger to carry my letter.

The first thing I would like to tell you that you should never take medicines in an

overdose.   Medicines can harm or even kill you.  I heard that your horse Buccphalus

was killed in the battle.  You have fought many battles and so you know  that

many soldiers and horses can get killed.  Even if Buccphalus was your favourite horse,

please do not remain sad for long.  Although you have conquered  many places, do not

think you will become great by conquering the whole world.  Instead work hard to see

that the people of the places you have conquered are happy and have food, shelter

and clothing.

In Greece you had married a fine lady who gave you two beautiful children.  When your

conquests took you to Asia you married an Asian girl.  I think this is very wrong.  Please

think how your wife in Greece must be feeling and how  your children must be missing you.

If you think about what I have written,  you  may still do the right thing and you will be

 remembered as a great king.
