School Profile |
|
We are a co-educational, secular, wholly Indian school recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), New Delhi.
At BIS, every child is treated as a unique individual. Our goal is to nurture individual potential to the maximum. Each child is encouraged to perform to the best of his/her ability with an emphasis on performance without comparison and competition with peers.
We are committed to provide a well-rounded education aimed at the overall development of a child’s personality. Greater emphasis is laid upon the style of learning and appreciation of what is learnt, rather than on the curriculum aimed at an exam. Keeping this objective, we keep our numbers small (about 380), and our teacher-students ratio is also very favourable.
At BIS, teachers and parents work in close co-operation to cultivate a happy and healthy environment for teaching and learning. Children are encouraged to work freely and independently and develop sensitivities attuned to different facets of life. There is stress on “participation by all” and in “all activities”.
In the challenging and changing environment of the new millennium, BIS is untouched by fleeting trends but continues to be committed to a dynamic vision of providing quality, holistic education.
Bombay International School is proud to be an institution with a difference – conceived by the pioneering and dedicated efforts of a small group of parents. With their active involvement even today, the school is being steered through so many changes and challenges, to emerge stronger and richer.
