BOMBAY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Investiture 2012
Principal, Ms.Seervai, members of the staff, students and parents – Good morning.
Many congratulations to each one of you who have been elected as office bearers for the year 2012-13. It is a great achievement and recognition not only from your mates but also from your teachers. However, with this there is a tremendous amount of responsibility cast upon each of you and this is what you will have to shoulder throughout the year and live up to their expectations. For those students who have not been elected, well there is bound to be an element of disappointment. However, there will be many opportunities in the years to come – if not of the same kind, then of different and better. In my view, each student graduating from this school, through the years, has achieved many accolades and been recognized in his /her own different field. Being a product of this school, is by itself an achievement and recognition alone and each one of you should be very proud of it.
There are tons and tons of advises that can be given. I would like to talk about just one. In whichever profession you choose you will go through a learning process. There is no end to this process. The more you read, the more you research the more knowledgeable you are. And if you would like to stand out from the rest, read and research that much more than what is required of you. Take advantage of the technology at your disposal - use it don’t misuse it. In this process and with the passage of time through the years you will realize that you have been able to acquire so much more knowledge than the others who have restricted themselves to what is prescribed. This is what will make you stand out as a bright intelligent student from Bombay International School.
In the words of Thomas Huxley “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.”
In a year or two you will face the real world. Nothing could be better than to make your teachers, your principal and your school proud of you than to hear of your success – after all they have spent year after year for a decade in preparing each one of you to face the challenges of tomorrow.
On behalf of all the parents , our deepest gratitude and sincere thanks to Principal , Ms Seervai and each and every teacher right from lower prep to the final year for helping , teaching and guiding our children for what they are and of whom we are their proud parents.
Thank you.
