CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Each child is encouraged to develop his own potential to the maximum and perform his best. The goal is to de-emphasize competition as the only motivating factor for achievement. Children are
encouraged to work responsibly and independently. There is stress on
"participation by all in all" activities. The School organises a host of activities and events such as: · Sports · Variety Entertainment · Class Assemblies where children plan and stage a programme · Debates- Hindi and English · Elocution - Hindi and English · General Knowledge Quizzes · Children's' Day, Project Day, Art and Craft exhibition · Science Oriented Activities · Fete · Participation in the Cathedral Model United Nations Programme · Participation in the Harvard Model United Nations Programme · Participation in inter-school sports, debates, art, elocution and dramatics · Educational Tours and Excursions · Photography Club · Hiking Club Harvard
Model United Nations (H.M.U.N.) The Harvard Model
United Nations Session (H.M.U.N.), held in Boston every December, invites
the School to participate in the Mock or Simulated sessions of the United
Nations General Assembly and/or its specialised agencies. A group of
students accompanied by a teacher participate in these sessions. It gives
students a new perspective to problems and helps them gain a better
insight into petty, parochial in-fighting that besets World politics. Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC) & Seeds Of Peace Programme Several of our
students qualify and participate in the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC)
regularly in Washington, D.C. and
New York city. The B.I.S students
have been selected regularly to take part in the Seeds of Peace Programme
in Maine, U.S.A. This
programme is to build understanding between the school children from
nations at war or with soured diplomatic relations with each other |
