FOLK TALES OF INDIA

Folk tales is an important constituent of folklore. Even today the folktale is one of the principle forms of entertainment and education for a large proportion of the world’s inhabitants. Folk tales usually emphasis a moral at the end of the story. Folk tales of different regions represent the thoughts, ideas, mental state, traditions, manners and customs and even the wit and wisdom of the people of that region. Std III chose folktales from a few states in India. The children found out about the state, location, climate, people, dress, food, dances and festival. Children worked with enthusiasm.

The children made Project Files with all the written matter and worksheets in them. They enjoyed making charts and doing the art and craft work. As the  saying goes everyone loves a story.
