Std I had a great experience learning the different aspects about clothing. They learnt about various textures and materials used for clothing. The sensorial experience was enhanced through “Material Boy and Material Girl” made from different  textured  materials. They also enjoyed listening to the story of cotton & silk and making charts on the same. The students made their own class poem as well as riddles. They also made their own suitcases and packed them according to the various climatic conditions. We had fun exploring the topic “Measurements” . They enjoyed dressing up their dolls and soft toys with different materials given to them. The boys enjoyed it thoroughly! The children decorated brown paper bags to make their own hats  which was fun and very creative. A clothing dictionary (A-Z) was made by students. A ppt. on different clothes according to the different states was shown to the students. The children went for a field trip Weaver’s centre where they saw various forms of printing & weaving being done. They also went to the Westside store where they learnt about the clothing labels, sorting, ordering, storage and pricing. We also had a very interesting field trip to the Embroidery workshop where they saw the machine and hand embroidery being done. Finally the kids had a great time showcasing what they learnt .The parents and visitors thoroughly enjoyed the songs sung by the kids as well as the explanations given to them.
